According to Wikipedia Afro, sometimes shortened to 'fro and
also known as a "natural", is a hairstyle worn naturally by people
with lengthy kinky hair texture or specifically styled in such a fashion by
individuals with naturally curly or straight hair. The hairstyle is created by
combing the hair away from the scalp, allowing the hair to extend out from the
head in a large, rounded shape, much like a halo, cloud or ball.
In persons with naturally curly or straight hair, the
hairstyle is typically created with the help of creams, gels or other
solidifying liquids to hold the hair in place. Particularly popular in the
African-American community of the late 1960s, the hairstyle is often shaped and
maintained with the assistance of a wide-toothed comb colloquially known as an
afro pick.
The style was popular in the 80’s but then it began coming
back but with different variations. Both men and women can rock the afro

was Charles Frederick Worth (1826–1895). Before the former draper set up his
maison de couture (fashion house) in Paris, clothing design and creation was

was able to dictate to his customers what they should wear.

Throughout the early 20th century, practically all high
fashion originated in Paris and to a lesser extent London. Fashion magazines

LOS ANGELES (AP) — After a whirlwind of awards season attention for Lupita Nyong'o ended with a best supporting actress award at Sunday's Oscars, the "12 Years a Slave" star honored the character that put her on stage.
"Thank you to the academy for this incredible
recognition. It doesn't escape me for one moment that so much joy in my life is
due to so much pain in someone else's," she said, referring to Patsey, the
tortured slave she played in director Steve McQueen's wrenching 19th-century
drama.
She credited McQueen for bringing attention to a dark
chapter in American history and the victims of slavery.
"I'm certain the dead are standing about you and
watching," she said, a sentiment she expanded on backstage.
"I think he's really honored a people that really have
been unsung for a really long time in doing this film," she said.

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton are separating after nearly
nine years of marriage. "We will always love each other and be best friends,
however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," the couple
said in a joint statement to People magazine Monday (Feb. 24). The two married in June 2005 and welcomed their son, Julian,
in 2010. News of the split comes after Thicke was photographed
getting close to women other than his wife. In September, a socialite claimed
she kissed the "Blurred Lines" singer after meeting at a VMAs
after-party at 1Oak. In January, he was seen "dirty dancing" with a
woman in Paris, FishWrapper reported.
Thicke, 36, and Patton, 38, met when they were just
teenagers. “I knew she was special the night I met her. I was only 14,
but she was already the most special girl," he told Star magazine in
September. “As a relationship progresses, you fall in love again in so many
deeper ways. You realize that you need each other and you can’t live without
each other." That same month, the actress gushed about her marriage
during an interview with YourTango. "He loves me so much and the feeling is mutual,"
she said. "The best is when you love someone deeply and those feelings are
equally returned. Also, Robin is really there for me. When times are good or

I know, it’s the second month of 2014 and resolutions are
usually made in the beginning of the year. I never really make resolutions or
write them down anyway just thoughts I tick off in my head as I go along. But I’ve
decided I need to make this one, I haven’t really been blogging that much due
to some unrelated reasons and other stresses of life. So this time I think I
need to put it down on paper as a goal I have for this New Year 2014. Written
down resolutions have more meaning than just declaring something and let it
fall as it may. And the best part is that now that I will put it down I will
have no more excuses as to why I have not achieved it come December 31st
2014. Now that I will share it with the whole world I will have people that I
will be accountable to…not just for encouragement but also for critiques.

Last year 2013 saw collections that were extravagant, crazy,
beautiful and in various colors. The Fall Fashion Trend in 2013 was Cobalt Blue
which is one color that I have been crazy about. The color was seen on
designers’ collection like Valentino , Victoria Beckham, Michael Kors and DKNY.

During Christmas we all want to fill our homes with the
