High-waisted Pencil skirt with Suspenders

I'm currently loving this look because it can be worn officially or for casual purposes. The modern high-waist skirts offers a flattering wrap to achieve the hourglass look and elongates your legs even more. The pencil skirt with suspenders is easy to pull of as all you need is a high waist skirt which most often comes attached to the suspenders...some are detachable. and a fitting white or any colored t-shirt that is tucked under the skirt. The suspenders can be straight or if you choose, you can criss-cross at the back.
Pair with nice heels and fashionable jewelry that suits the occasion. You can also rock this look with a long sleeved blouse.

Handy tips for staying beautiful in cold weather

Here are a few tips that can help keep your skin feeling and looking good in cold weather countries by Lape Soetan True Love May 2008

a)      It may be tempting to use the harshest cleansers you can find if you suddenly break out in pimples, but such cleansers can actually make the problem worse. Generally, if your skin feels tight or starts peeling, you’re using the wrong beauty products and should switch to something gentle.

How to disguise Fashion Flaws

Need to disguise a figure flaw? Here are four suggestions from www.fashion-ideas.net
A)    Plump waist
Wearing a dress with a higher or lower waist will create the illusion that your waist is smaller. If the fabric in the top and bottom half are different, this will draw attention to the cut rather than your waist.

What to wear with knee length skirt

Wear a knee length skirt with ballet flats, fairly low heels, wedges and open toe-end espadrilles

What to wear with wide leg trousers

Wear wide leg trousers with chunky heels

What to wear with narrow pants

Wear narrow pants with stilettos

What to wear with a Narrow pencil skirt

Struggling to team up a skirt or pants with a pair of shoes. Here’s an easy guide from www.ivillage.com

Fashionable belts the Corset Belts

Corset belts have been in the limelight and are not going anywhere soon, the thicker shaped corset belts are now the must-have of women’s accessories in thier wardrobes.
The beauty to these corset belts is, no matter what size you are,you can pull this look with just about any outfit that you fancy. The belts will give you a shape if that is what you are looking for, they have a slimming effect when you put it on with your little black dress thus giving the illusion that have that tiny little waist. The corset belt sits high on your waist and gives you the bottle glass figure that is the goal of evrery woman who wants to look hot.
Corset belts also do not discriminate on age as they will help to keep your figure tucked in at all the right places. Corset belts have a tough thick material and are firm which means that they will not go around your waist or slide down unnecesarily causing you discomfort.
They come in various colors which ensures that you can match or clash with your outfit. Though the belts are usually detailed, you can accessorise as much and as little as possible. The belts have been spotted on celebrities, on the catwalk and even on Michelle Obama here wearing  a corset-belt by Peter Soronen

The Art of Manscaping

In the beauty industry, there are some very quietly whispered affairs usually known as beauty secrets. When it concerns men, then it almost always starts like an underground movement.
One of those movements happens to be male grooming. But not just any ordinary grooming. It’s manscaping. The term is described in the Urban Dictionary as “to groom a man-shaving, waxing, cleaning up the superfluous fur.” Or as “a term used to define male grooming below the belt. A male can use either an electric razor or a regular razor. A Mach 3 is preferable with the ladies…so men must educate themselves on proper manscaping and maintenance techniques”
In the midst of some hilarious definitions also erupts “a fine art form exclusive to men; the continued upkeep of exceptional hygiene and strategic hair removal as they pertain to the male body”

Men's V-Neck button down cardigans

With autumn officially beginning, the weather seems to change faster than you can change your own outfit. Some mornings you feel like you need a jacket, others a sweater, and sometimes, just a shirt feels right. What can you layer to keep up with the temperature and still match everything? Your basic black cardigan fits the bill.

From runways to the mall, cardigans for men are becoming more and more popular. They add a much-needed style boost, plus a layer of warmth that you can take off during the day if you want to cool down. At the same time, you can add much more variety to your wardrobe by investing in one with a great fit.
They come in various colours, sizes and designs, s you can see you can wear stripped cardigan, multi colored but if you prefer just one color will do. These cardigans exume confidence and class on the wearer so do not be afraid to experiment with the colors and design you love.
Matched with jeans, skinny jeans or even a formal trouser button down cardigans are in and they are easy to carry if the weather suddenly changes. Just have fun with it and look stylish in them for that different look that you want to achieve.

Fun ways with the Short flirty skirts

Want something that will give you an excuse to show some leg, well the what is trending right now is the short flirty skirt that should be a staple in every girls wardrobe, it matters not whether you are a tom boy or love to wear skirts, this is the best fashion essential for all ladies.
Step into summer and seize the heat with a fun flirty skirt! These swingy short flirty skirts styles are a fresh and easy way to prepare your closet for warmer seasons
These skirts have an A-line hem and ruffle out a little around the bottom. The best part is that they look great on almost everyone! You just have to know how to pair them and accessorize.
It’s a really hot trend this season too the full and frilly skirts. This style of skirt is also really flattering and works well for a lot of different body types. Tuck in your top to accentuate or create a waist if you have a long torso. Wear the skirts with your top tucked in and a great pair of heels. You can dress it up with a blazer or a statement necklace or keep it casual with a loose tank and a jean jacket.
Since the hemline on these skirts is fuller, they will have a slimming effect on your legs thereby creating that elegant classic look.

Keep your feet warm with fashion shoes...Ugg Boots

Going with my Cold Weather attires. These types of shoes have been spotted on women's feet though I think most women have a different name while some do not know what they are called all together, they are called Ugg boots. Warm and lovely to wear on these cold days.
The Ugg boots can be bought from most shops in town and if you want to buy online you can go to Zappos store an online store where there are currently about 50,000 varieties of shoes sold.
Ugg boots (sometimes called Uggs) are known in Australia and New Zealand as a unisex style of sheepskin boot made of twin-faced sheepskin with fleece on the inside and with a tanned outer surface, often with a synthetic sole. The boots originated in those countries, initially as utilitarian footwear worn for warmth and comfort and later adopted by surfers there during the 1960s. In the 1970s, the boots were introduced to the surf culture of the United Kingdom and the United States by local surfers returning from surfing competitions in Australian.

Ugg boots emerged as a fashion trend in the United States in the late 1990s and as a world-wide trend in the late 2000s, yet they failed to gain popularity in Australia where they are worn predominantly as slippers and associated with "daggy" fashion sense, and bogan culture.
The boots come in different colors, designs, material they are made with and even style.
Wear your Ugg boots with skinny jeans and tuck it in, plus they go really well with tights and a mini skirt jeans or shorts. Pair with a cute top and accessorise as you fancy.
Ugg boots are not only for the cold weather but also for some moderate weather where you can put them on with a short skirt, shorts or a lovely dress. They are super comfortable and look great as well. Both men, women and children can wear Ugg boots.

What exactly makes people to fall in love? by Dr. Chris Hart

Have you ever been passionately in love? It’s such a strange feeling. So intense. An all-consuming longing for your lover. You idealize your partner and think about them all the time. Wanting to know everything about them; to please them and understand their feelings. To be close to them. And you experience such a roller coaster of emotions: joy, happiness, serenity, anxiety, panic and despair.
Passionate love’s driven by hope, loneliness and jealousy. A mixture of pain and pleasure. It can be a bitter sweet experience. For some so painful they hope never to fall in love again.

Cold Weather Fashion :Scarfs

The long rains season is here and I am so excited, I don't know what exactly excites me about the rain but I love it when it's wet. Apart from making your world smell fresher, the rainy season gives you a chance to remove all those great clothes that have been holed up at the back of your closet because it was too hot to wear them. Stuff like cute sweaters, leg warmers, nice cozy cotton boots and most of all those fashion items called...scarfs.
Scarves come in different sizes and shapes, you can have square scarves, rectangular, round scarves, and triangular scarves. Some scarves have hemmed edges, fringed edges, and fused edges. They can be batik dyed, tie-dyed, silk-screened, have woven patterns, or solid colors. A great scarf says your are keeping warm but not forgetting to look hot and fashionable.
Scarves can be worn as a fashion accessory by blending with the outfit or as a fashion item on its own. Given that scarves come in different shapes, light or heavy in weight choosing a scarf does not have to be a headache inducing exercise as most importantly, you a wearing the scarf for functionality purposes.
It provides extra style and warmth around your neck.

The Ruffles Fashion for the trendy woman

I have been seeing the ruffled shoulder tops everywhere in town and so i decided to write about them since it seems it is becoming a rend in Nairobi. I have seen several colors, designs and even different ruffled designs on the tops.
They look stylish and further more just add a playful, seemingly effortless sense of style to the wearer. It cab be a Ruffled One Shoulder Top, a Ruffled shoulders dress, either short or long. Ruffles make an outfit look great as they have greater details.

Screen Actors Guild Awards 2012 Fashion

Rose Byrne. in Elie Saab (Haute Couture Collection Autumn-Winter 2009-2010). Shoes ‘Vibe’, by Jimmy Choo; clutch by Lena Erziak and jewelry by Chanel Fine.

As with all awards in Hollywood and beyond, the celebrities dress well for the occasion. This year's Screen Actors Guild Awards, also know as SAG Awards saw celebrities dressed form head to toe in the best designer outfits, jewelry, purses/ clutch bags and shoes. Several designer names like Jimmy Choo, Valentino, Marchesa, among others got a chance to showcase some of their best designs through celebrities wearing them.
It was not only te women who were dressed finely for the occasion, but also the men were not to be overshadowed by the women as they came in their sharp ans sophisticated suits carrying designer labels, Brad Pitt had the perfect accessory on his arm in that of Angelina Jolie, looking glam as usual. The awards saw a mix of different colors in mostly the women's dresses, there were oranges, navy blues, some floral prints and even white.
Flowing gowns were not the only outfits that hogged the Red Carpet, there was a very unique outfit worn by Rose Byrne..
You do not have to break a bank to get a celebrity look, simply look at the style and create your own that matches that of your favorite celeb, or can even be better than. Looking and feeling good is a state of mind because you can have the most expensive clothes on and simply not look the part.
Celebrities make it look so simple and flawless yet knowing what works for your body size, skin color or tone and material can make a difference between looking fabulous and plain or worse...boring.
Below are some of my favorite outfits at this year's SAG Awards in no particular order.

Floral Shoes To Blossom Your Style

Spring is here and with it comes brightly colored flowers blooming giving you a sense of calm and excitement. To honor it, why not step out of the house with some floral print shoes that are classy and make a bold statement.
Floral shoes of all kinds—oxfords, wedges, and pumps—are a refreshing and easy way to inject a fun and care free attitude into your style.Whether sky-high heels for night, pumps for day, and flats for the weekend, floral shoes give you a spring in your step.
The trick to wearing floral shoes is to fit them with plain or a single colored outfit, don't wear too much floral print or the look will feel too busy and out of place.
You can wear floral shoes with a long maxi dress or a short flirty skirt with minimum accessories so as to draw all the attention to the shoes which come in a variety of colors.

Stella McCartney Reveals Uniforms For the British Olympic Team

Stella McCartney's recent runway collection wasn't the only Spring debut she had to worry about. The designer has spent the last two years working on the uniforms for the 2012 British Olympic team and finally unveiled them Thursday.
McCartney said that the uniforms started with a meditation on the Union Jack, the flag of Great Britain. "For me it's one of the most beautiful flags in the world and it was important for me to stay true to that iconic design, but also to modernise it and present it in a contemporary way," she said. "Ultimately, we wanted the athletes to feel like a team and be proud with the identity we created."

To that end, McCartney infused her athletic gear with the same attention to detail and craftsmanship that goes into her ready-to-wear. The entire kit, which is composed of nearly 600 different pieces created in collaboration with Adidas, will be distributed to the over 900 athletes who make it on the team.
Reported by http://www.fashionologie.com

After much anticipation, Adidas has just revealed its 2012 Olympic uniforms for Britain designed by Stella McCartney. The uniforms, which took two years to create, highlight a modern take on Great Britain's Union Jack flag. “The first place to start on a project like this is to look at the Union flag," said McCartney. "For me it’s one of the most beautiful flags in the world and it was important for me to stay true to that iconic design but also to modernise it and present it in a contemporary way." The designer injected her own fashion-forward spin on it via clean lines and and a less literal take on the flag. "Something that was very important to me was to try and use that very iconic image but to dismantle it and try to soften it, break it down and make it more fashionable in a sense," said McCartney.

Trend Alert – Suspender Tights

Trend Alert – Suspender Tights. From superstar Rihanna, and now even Selena Gomez, have both been spotted rocking the look of suspender tights. A sexy high fashion look that seems as if it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. I admit that this is one trend I definitely want to try, but I will have to wait until the right time to do so. You definitely can’t wear suspender tights everywhere. For those won’t don’t already know, this trend was very popular a few years ago in Europe, and it looks like it’s now making its way to the states. To pull off this trend layers is really key. Pair this look with a blazer, or sweater to add bulk to the top of your body. Finish the looks by wearing the tights and pairing it with a short black skirt, or tweed shorts. Solid colors will draw less attention. It’s really a fun trend to try, and the best places to wear it would include on a date with your boyfriend, ( don’t wear it on a first date because the guy might not get your style) , a night out with the girls, clubs, or simply trip to the movies. Just be sure not to wear this look to family dinners or church settings. Look below to see how both stars are rocking the trend, plus others ways you can wear it. Can’t wait to see what others celebs will join in on it.

Alek Wek From Sudanese Refugee to International Supermodel by Lynette R. Holloway

Indeed Alek Wek leads a glamorous life. She works as one of the top runway models in the world and her features are known worldwide-radiant skin and oval face, close-cropped natural hair and a dazzling smile. Her lean physique is grace personified on the catwalk. The model-recently-turned entrepreneur has created her own line of luxury handbags.
But life has not always been so good. Wek, a member of the Dinka tribe, grew up in southern Sudan in a town called Wau, where militias invaded and clashed with rebels in the 1980’s. Wek’s family, including her parents and siblings were forced to flee their home when she was just 9 years old.
During more strife, when she was a pre-teen, the family fled by plane to London, where she lived the life of a refugee, struggling to meet ends make ends meet, cleaning toilets, and sweeping floors and learning a foreign language. She also struggled with psoriasis, a sometimes devastating skin disease that causes the skin to flake, bump or peel. At times, her mother was forced to use a sharp knife to cut flaking bits from her head to toes.
Life, however, changed instantly when she was discovered by a modeling talent scout at a street fair. Wek tells her literal rags-to-riches story in a candid memoir FROM SUDANESE REFUGEE TO INTERNATIONAL SUPERMODEL: ALEK (Amistad, $24.95). Wek, 30, who lives in Brooklyn, takes time from her busy schedule to talk to Ebony about the book.

The Best Fashion Movies

I love fashion and watching fshion movies, programes or series that are about or feature fashion is one of my favourite things to do so here is a list of the best fashion movies, it not conclusive because there will be more fashion movies created or some that have been left out.
The list is courtesy of http://www.imdb.com/list/dUrwL25PdBI/ . If you have more you can add too. I haven't watched all of them but now that i have the list i can go and buy to watch.
One gest fashion inspirations from various sources and movies like these have lots of ideas and fashion items that you can either buy or get ones like them.
Fashion is all about your mind and what makes you inspired, there are no strict rules about how to like your fashion. Simply know what works for you, is appropriate for your body size, height, shape, skin tone and even
For instance you can wear sky high heels to elongate your legs and make your back leaner.
Wear minimal jewellery that blends with the outfit you are wearing so that it does not compete with it.
Fashion...It's all in your imagination's hands...!
