Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Fall 2013

"Jean Paul Gaultier took a turn to the wild side with his Fall 2013 Haute Couture collection. With models' hair twisted sky-high and painted with leopard spots, animal prints along with sculpted volume were the themes of the season. The overall effect had more than a nod and a wink to the '80s with Mugler-esque quilting on jackets, oversize shoulders that would look at home on Grace Jones, and patterned tights with every look.
Standouts include a cobalt leather dress with a wide belt and exaggerated hips and a frothy bridal trouser suit on Liu Wen."

"Jean Paul Gaultier Fall Couture – Feeling in a feline mood, French designer Jean Paul Gaultier sent out a collection of big cat inspired looks for his fall 2013 haute couture collection. Known for his sense of camp, Gaultier did not shy away from color nor print with his latest couture outing. Models strutted the catwalk in body-hugging silhouettes covered in spotted fur patterns and leopard print stockings.
Gaultier also found inspiration in the clowns of cinema, citing references such as “The Clowns” by Italian director Federico Fellini as well as David Bowie’s “Ashes to Ashes” music video. The circus influence can be seen in bright, circular patterns found on dresses, cone-shaped hats and over-exaggerated trouser proportions. Still, it’s not all fun and games; Gaultier’s attention to craftsmanship is evident by the impeccable embroidery and shapes presented." by Joanna...fashiongonerogue.com

Demi Lovato Stars in Fashion Magazine’s August Issue by Chris Nicholls

Fresh from causing major palpitations with her platinum-selling single “Heart Attack,” and smashing records with her fourth studio album—Demi Lovato graces the August cover of FASHION magazine. Photographed in sunny Los Angeles at Milk Studios, Lovato spoke to features editor Elio Iannacci on the highs and lows of her career as well as her views on songwriting, relationships and her return as a judge on X-Factor this fall. Here is a sneek peek of our cover story, which hits newsstands on July 8, 2013:

On dealing with double standards:
“Guys can be scandalous and not get any crap for it. In my song [“Something We’re Not”], I’m saying, ‘girls, have your fun—don’t let anyone let you feel bad about your actions. Ever.’
How moving to L.A. helped her transform:
“L.A. has opened my eyes. I learned that ignorance stood in the way of my insight. I wasn’t really being honest with the way I used to live.  I was pretending to be a role model during the day and turning into a wild child at night.”

How to pull off the Color Blocking trend for men...then Basics

Never has color been embraced like it has been in this 21st century. The color blocking trend is still holding strong on its own and even men have embraced it...well at least the brave who are not afraid of color in their lives. For this trend not to backfire on you, here are some basics of rocking the Color Blocking trend for men.
  • Pick poppy, contrasting solids to emulate this season's boldest trend. Remember - strong colors, not pastels.
  • Don't be afraid to pair clashing colors, but mix no more than four color ways in a single outfit.
  • Go for primary and secondary colors over pastels.
  • Spend big on colors you'll re-use, but go high-street for less perennial shades - try ASOS and Topman for bright orange and red shades.
  • Don't forget your accessories - Prada, Hermès and Burberry have a great range of colored leather goods.
  • Layer your look with lightweight summer knits.

Zuhair Murad Couture Fall 2013

At the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, Zuhair Murad found his inspiration in the woods as his Fall 2013 Couture collection is called "Enchanted Forest,” This was brought out in the many gowns that had decorations that looked like tree branches and roots.
The beading on the gowns resembled those plants that weave themselves around a tree or the moss that collects around trees. Embroidered around the cocktail dresses and some outfits were branches that stretched out creating a visually appeasing look that left enough to the imagination.
The colors were bright sleek and chic. Black has never seemed so sophisticated and classic the way it did on the gowns, cocktail dresses. I love this collection as it is completely fabulous and dreamy. The rich colors pull you in and capture your attention, there was even a touch of feathers! Check out the rest of the collection and tell me what you think!
