Happy New Year my favorite readers!! When I came up with the title for this post immediately the song Return of the Mack by Mark Morrison kept singing in my head. The lyrics have nothing to do with fashion but I do love old school music and since we are talking about the return of the Velvet Fashion in 2019, it just sort of works together, the song and the title..hehehe... anyway, back to fashion, velvet fashion that is, I used to look at velvet strangely, to me it was better worn as a luxurious bathrobe, but then there were fashionistas on the street making velvet look all gorgeous, elegant and beautiful. If you are or were like me then I have a few street style looks that will make you give velvet a chance. The material comes in all sorts of colors, shades and designs. From velvet trouser, velvet dress, velvet jacket to even velvet skirt, this trend is still amazing and there are so many ways to make it work for you. Velvet can be worn to work like a blazer, skirt or even full suit. You can wear a fitting velvet dress for dinner or a little black dress with strappy sandals. Happy New Year my loves! 2019 is here! I'm so excited you'd think I have won a lottery or something! But you know what? being alive is a reward in itself, being able to see your loved ones is an amazing feeling and knowing that you have the chance to start over again is just awesome! We kick off the year with a fashion style that has seen years come and go, and just as you are about to put it away, it comes back all hot and elegant. I'm talking about Velvet Fashion. It is such a bold statement to have on that most people shy away from but fear not I have found some looks that will make you think twice about ignoring velvet again. With velvet you can choose to have bits and pieces of it as an addition to your look or go all out with velvet from head to toe. Start small if you are new to this velvet trend that I see still taking 2019 with storm. Velvet comes in all sorts of colors, from black, pink, orange, brown, yellow, green to even a mix of a few of those colors. Choose a color that compliments your skin tone, figure and even the entire outfit as a whole. The most important thing is to wear the velvet trend with confidence and fierceness! Velvet is no longer a reserve of bathroom robes but a style that should be out on the street screaming, WEAR ME!
